Pain Free Waxing Solutions

Pain Free Waxing Solutions

We all know what our skin goals are. Flawless, soft and perfectly smooth. Whether you’re going on holiday or just want to look good in your daily routine then you’ll know the importance of hair removal to your routine.

There’s a load of ways to achieve this perfect, hair free skin of course. The majority of people rely on their razors to trim down the hairs on their legs and elsewhere. While a lot of us are using to shaving there’s a fair few downsides. Shaving can be irritating to the skin and lead to cuts and scratches which will mark your legs. It’s also fairly time consuming and definitely not the most efficient method of hair removal.

Instead a lot of people are turning to waxing for the best hair removal. Waxing used to be something only done by professionals in salons, but these days there are countless products which can be used in your own home.

At home waxing can be a daunting thought for some. Some people are put off by the challenge and the thought that it may mean mess all over the home. Home waxing kits are actually more streamlined than ever with kits that remove all the hassle while giving the best results.

The main perceived downside of waxing is the pain it can cause. We all know that waxing is supposed to be a painful experience, but actually it doesn’t have to be. There are now ways to wax pain free as long as you get the right products for your skin. Keep reading to find out more.

Benefits of Waxing

Waxing at homeThere are a number of reasons that waxing is becoming more popular year on year. The specially formulated products keep getting better and better leading to improved results. There are a few other hair removal treatments available so let’s take a look at exactly why waxing is so good:

● Long Lasting Hair Removal
Waxing works differently from most other treatments because it removes your hairs from the root, not just trimming the end. By removing the hairs completely It means the hair takes much longer to grow back, meaning less frequent hair removal needed.

● Time Saver
Waxing isn’t just more effective it’s also more efficient. Home wax kits are now designed to be quick and easy meaning you can wax on and wax off without any trouble.

● No Marks
Even the most careful shave can result in a few cuts but with waxing there isn’t any risk to your skin. The wax targets the hairs and the worst that can happen is a bit of temporary redness on the outside.

Waxing allows you the confidence of great looking smooth skin. Always make sure you’re using reputable products from companies you can trust so you won’t hurt your skin. Remember waxing doesn’t have to hurt and it’s worth taking a little time to look for the best products.

Painless Wax (www.painless-wax.com) specialise in waxing treatments that cause the least irritation or pain. They have a wide range of different products to suit your own individual needs. This includes whole wax bundles or even wax beans.

Painless wax are offering a real solution for people who appreciate waxing but don’t fancy the pain that comes along with it. Waxing is incredibly effective and thanks to advances in products if you use the right wax the right way you can now have effortless and pain free smooth legs.

Mother’s Day With Boohoo

My mum is pretty special to me, not only is she a wonderful woman who bought me up, she’s helped me through some hard times, been there when I was struggling after uni to find a job and what I wanted to do. She helped me through an unpaid internship, and even helped my northern boyfriend to move down south and find a job, she’s pretty amazing.
18 Months ago mumma had a stroke, it was a pretty tough time, and of course even harder for mum. Now she’s starting to fully recover she’s starting to enjoy doing things she loves again, and can go out and socialise again. This year Boohoo got in touch to see if I wanted to do something to show just how special my mum was to me, and if I wanted to do something instead of giving the usual traditional gifts of flowers or chocolates for Mother’s Day this year, and wanted to treat her to something that will make her look and feel fantastic, a new dress.
Boohoo isn’t really a brand me or mum have ordered from before, but their website is full of beautiful clothes, and I was sure there would be something that would make my mum feel as fantastic as she is. We both had the option to pick anything we liked from the site, as long as they were both from the same category. And as we both love a good excuse for a fancy new frock, both picked a new dress to show off.

For mums dress I ordered her this Bella Butterfly Skater Dress in a size 14. She usually wears a size 12, but wanted a 14 incase the dress came up a little small due to the cut of the dress. Luckily the 14 fit her perfectly, and I think suits her really well. The dress has a cute butterfly pattern, and came with a brown belt on the empire line. The dress is sleeveless, so mum teamed it up with a short sleeved cardigan and leggings and boots.

For my dress I ordered the Plus Paige Checked Shift Dress in a size 24. I did originally order it in my usual size 20, however it came up really small on me so I reordered a size 24. For me it still feels a little tight, especially around my stomach. Typically I don’t tend to pick shift style dresses, I’d usually go for a skater style like my mum, but I found Boohoo’s plus size dress offerings a little limited for the styles I tend to go for. Like mum I wore mine with a pair of leggings and boots, and I think this dress would look pretty cute with a cardigan or leather jacket.

It was great to give the gift of style to my mum this year, not that she needed any extra help being fabulous! It’s always nice to have an excuse to wear a new dress, and mums really pleased that she found a dress that she feels great in. Thanks to Boohoo for dressing me and my mum for the occasion, I think she’s found a new love for their dresses!

Busaba St Albans Restaurant Opening

I live about 20 minutes away from the town of St Albans, a gorgeous city full of adorable coffee shops and amazing looking restaurants, all of which I want to explore more of. And last week I was invited along to experience one of St Albans newest Thai restaurants, Busaba, and was invited to their launch night, doesn’t that sound fancy?
Enjoying the perks of being the boyfriend of a food blogger, I brought along Chris with me to the opening of Busaba, where we were both greeted with a glass of bubbly. Looking around the restaurant you could see it was full of hussle and bussle and excitement for the opening, with a DJ playing music, and an artist creating art work to be displayed in the restaurant.
Once we were shown to our table we were greeted by the head chef who presented to us a sample of four dishes to try from their menu while we decided what to eat. The dishes were designed to be sweet, sour, salty and spicy and were a great sample to the food we were about to taste at Busaba.
As it was the opening night they had a sample menu available for a few of their dishes, as well as a few signature cocktails. For my starter I decided on the Thai Calamari, which came with ginger and green peppercorn, and gosh did it taste amazing – a nice twist on a normal calamari dish.
Chris, who’s a little more adventurous with spicy food, picked the Som Tam – green papaya salad, dried shrimp, peanut, cherry tomato and lime. I’m not one for spicy food, but Chris loves it so it wasn’t a surprise he picked out one of the spiciest things on the menu. It was fiery dish, with lots of flavour – perfect if you like something a little hotter.
When it came to picking a main there was no competition from me, I had to pick the Tamarind Grilled Duck. As a big lover of duck dishes I was excited to see what the Thai take on this would be, which came with Chinese broccoli and sticky rice. The duck was cooked absolutely beautifully, and the tamarind sauce really complemented the flavours of the duck.
Chris once again decided to pick out the spiciest dish, and opted for the Pad Kwetio – flat rice noodle, smoked chicken, king prawn, shitake mushroom and sweet potato fries. As it’s another spicy dish, and I’m a wimp with spice I didn’t pinch any of Chris’s dinner, although I may have pinched a few sweet potato fries, which were oh my, amazing.
All in all it was a lovely evening, and the whole atmosphere of the opening night was wonderful. If you looked around the restaurant you could see tables of people enjoying the food and cocktails on offer, and overall looked like it was a successful opening night. Not having experienced proper thai food before, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the food, but I feel like I know a little more about the flavours from a Thai dish now, and I’m looking forward to heading back to Busaba to try some more soon!

September Goals Revisited

At the beginning of the month I decided to set myself some goals, as it was something I hadn’t done for a while, and maybe it would help me to actually stick to something! Now that September has been and gone, I thought I’d catch up on how I did on my goals.

get back to the gym

Since the car accident I had in July I’ve not been able to do much. I can’t seem to walk around for long without my back being in agony, so all exercise plans have been off. This month I decided that it was time to get back on track with my fitness, and hopefully start recovering from my car accident. So did I go back to the gym? Yes, once. So not really a good start, but I’ve now also started doing physio for my back injury so hopefully it’ll get better soon!

get back into a blogging schedule

My blog has definitely been a little slow and quiet lately, so in September I planned on becoming organised and getting loads of posts written up and scheduled, and well, I managed 7. September was a very busy month, so once again blogging was a bit quiet. Hopefully I’ll get back into this soon!

stop spending money

Oh we all know how awful I am with spending money, and in September I wanted to stop spending so much. This month I cut back on a few things I was spending money on, but this still wasn’t the best financial month ever. Chris started a new job in September, and I’m going to be starting a new one in October too, so money will be a little better for us from then on!

get back into healthy eating

Yay something I actually did! Kind of. Well I rejoined Slimming World, because I need the help and support of a group. But I then gained 1lb in my first week because I just didn’t stick to the plan at all, and then I haven’t been back since. Although I’ve been planning lots of healthy meals, I just need to stop eating so much rubbish in between!

read a book

Reading is something I love, I just haven’t done for the longest time, or enough of. So in September I set myself the goal of reading one book, and I actually managed to read two! Go me. It’s been a lot nicer, and more relaxing, in the evenings to sit and read a book and not sit on a computer or watch Netflix until I fall asleep. So this is something I should certainly try and keep up!

Although I didn’t stick to all of my goals, I’m pleased with how well I’ve done. I’ve been a little ‘lost’ lately and getting back into a routine and having a plan is definitely helping, as it helps to know what I’m aiming for! I think I’ll be setting myself a couple of goals for October now as well – maybe I’ll even stick to all of them!
